The soldier who was apart of the 29th Infantry Division landed on Omaha Beach during D-Day on June 6th, 1944 as part of Operation: Overlord.
Biography
The soldier's assigned company is unknown but he most likely ranked as private. At some point he was apparently wounded as pushed up the beach. Captain John H. Miller and his company eventually made a desperate run for the sea wall through the smoke from shell explosions, while under heavy machine gunfire and mortar fire. They run past the 29th Infantry soldier who is shown briefly as he lay on the ground, his screams of either pain or terror going unheeded. The nature of his wounds or their severity are not revealed and it is never known whether or not he survived.
