Ben Rubino was mentioned briefly during the film, Saving Private Ryan. He served as a paratrooper of the 101st Airborne Division during World War. His surname suggested that he was an American of Italian descent, but nothing more was known of him. At some point in time, possibly not long after the landings at Normandy, Ben Rubino was killed in action while in France. His dog tag was later among those removed from the dead paratroopers and discovered by Captain John H. Miller and his squad.
