Bowers was assigned to Company C led by Captain John Miller. On D-Day June 6th, 1944, Bowers landed on Omaha Beach with Charlie Company, 2nd Rangers Battalion. The landing craft that he and his unit were riding aboard came under a barrage of fire from German MG-42 in the Coastal Bunker. Bowers was killed before he was able to jump overboard.

Bowers was a minor character in Saving Private Ryan. He was a soldier who served as part of the 2nd Rangers Battalion of the United States Army during World War Two as part of Operation Overlord.

Biography

Bowers was assigned to Company C led by Captain John Miller. On D-Day June 6th,1944, Bowers landed on Omaha Beach with Charlie Company, 2nd Rangers Battalion. The landing craft that he and his company are riding aboard came under a barrage of fire from the German MG-42s in the coastal bunker.
