The Coxswain was a minor character briefly seen in the film, Saving Private Ryan. He was the Captain of the landing craft that carried Captain John H. Miller and a platoon of his soldiers to Omaha Beach during World War Two. The man ordered them that they should "Clear the ramp, thirty seconds, God be with you!".
Unable to escape the landing craft in time, he was later killed by a German MG-42 firing from the coastal bunker.
