The Coxswain was a minor character briefly seen in the film, Saving Private Ryan. He was the Captain of the landing craft which carried Captain John H. Miller and a platoon of his soldiers to Omaha Beach during World War Two. The man ordered them that they should "Clear the ramp, thirty seconds, God be with you!".
He was later killed by a German MG-42 firing from the coastal bunker, unable to escape the landing craft in time.
