Esson was a soldier in the 2nd Rangers Batallion of the United States Army during World War Two.
Biography
Esson was part of Company C led by Captain John H. Miller. On D-Day, June 6th, 1944, Esson was deployed to Omaha Beach with Charlie Company, 2nd Rangers Battalion. Esson is only see when the landing crafts came under fire from the German MG-42s in the Coastal Bunker, Captain Miller shouted for his men to jump into the water to evade enemy fire. Esson exact fate is unknown but he was likely killed by the machine gun fire before he was able to jump overboard.
