The German HQ Commander was the commander of the Neuville HQ.

When Staff Sergeant Hill accidentally knocked a plank against the brick wall, it knocked it down, and it revealed the HQ Commander and his men. The two sides yelled and threatened to fire, but Captain Fred Hamill and his men machine gunned down all the guys in the room, including this HQ Commander, who was dead in the same pose, sitting on the table.
