Joe was a minor character in the film, Saving Private Ryan. He was a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne.

Joe dropped with the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division on D-Day, June 6, 1944, into Normandy France. He got seperated though, but eventually regrouped at one of the 506th DZ's.

When he was marching with his troopers,Captain John H. Miller came by asking for Private Ryan. A Paratrooper asked Joe if a Paratrooper named Michaelson "buddied up" with Private James Ryan. Joe said yes, and got Michaelson.
