Biography
Joe dropped with the 506th Parachut Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division on D-Day, June 6, 1944, into Normandy France. He got seperated though, but eventually regrouped at one of the 506th DZ's. When he was marching with his troopers, when Captain John H. Miller came by asking for PFC James Francis Ryan. Oliver asked Joe if a Paratrooper named Michaelson "buddied up" with Private James Ryan. Joe said yes, and got Michaelson, who told Miller where Ryan was.
