The MP40 ("Machinenpistole 1940" or "Machine Pistol 1940") is a full automatic submachine gun developed by Erma Werke in the 1940s. The weapon is not a select fire weapon and fires from a 32 round stack magazine; chambered in the 9x19mm Parabellum ammunition. It is known to have little to no recoil when fired and usually has a folding stock.
