Private Talbot was a soldier in Charlie Company 2nd Rangers.

Some time in Talbot's early life, he learned how to speak French and German. On June 6,1944, he landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy, France. He survived the landing and proceeded on to Vierville with the rest of the Rangers.

He later participated in the attack on the German 88 artillery guns which occurred on the morning that Miller received an order from Colonel Anderson to prepare a squad to find, but was killed in the assault.

Captain Miller needed a translator, originally choosing Beasley who was killed earlier in the well so naturally he moved on to Talbot, but Sergeant Mike Horvath told Miller about Talbot's death so Miller decided to reassign and take Corporal Timothy E. Upham instead.
