Private First Class Toynbe was a supporting character in the film Saving Private Ryan. He was a 101st Airborne soldier, and one of the Ramelle Paratroopers, during World War Two.

Biography

He dropped into Normandy on June 6, 1944 with the 101st airborne. He was then rounded up by a Colonel to go to the town of Ramelle. After he, Corporal Fred Henderson, and James Francis Ryan took out a German tank a few miles outside the town, they encountered Captain John H. Miller and his Squad, who were sent to bring Ryan home after the deaths of his three brothers. Toynbe then participated in the Battle at Ramelle. During the battle, he set off a couple of detonated charges, killing and wounding a column of German SS Soldiers with the explosion and shrapnel. He later helped clear a German Panzer IV Tank with Rice, Garrity, Lyle, Weller, Gary and Wilson.
